\nInterview someone who has lived in your community for a long time. Ask about what it used to be like, and how the community has changed over time. Do a search to see if you can find old photos of that time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nResearch the needs of your community to find a way that you can give back to your kaiaulu. You might organize a neighborhood or beach clean-up, prepare a meal to feed those in need in your community, etc. Be creative!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nCreate a map of your neighborhood. Label the features in your neighborhood: houses, parks, fire station, stores, traffic lights, street names, etc. You can create a 3-D model of your neighborhood using recycled materials you have at home<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nPlan a tour to help others understand your community\u2019s history, geography and mo\u2018olelo. You should prepare a written itinerary, including an explanation of why each site was included on the tour.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nMake your own kaiaulu (community) activity. What do you want to know more about? What do you want to create?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nConduct research to find out whether there are any mele (songs) or \u2018oli (chants) written about your community. You can use this link<\/a> to find mele about different places on O\u2019ahu. Select one to memorize and perform for someone else.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nYou have a chance to design a brand new community. Think about what you would like to see and why. Plan out the features and their location in your new community. Draw it out using any tool you\u2019d like. Create a 3-D model of your new community.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nDesign a new park for your community. What are some things people would like to see in a park? What are some community needs (dog park, vegetable garden, jungle gym, etc)? What will it look like with social distancing in place?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
