Submit your scholarship application online during our 2020-2021 scholarship window and make sure all required documents are received by Pauahi Foundation no later than 4:15 p.m. HST on the program deadline date. Applications and documents received after this date will not be accepted.

Personal Statement Essays

Required. We recommend that you compose your personal statement essays on a Word document prior to starting your online application. Each essay is limited to 3,000 characters total (includes letters, numbers, spaces and punctuation).

Essay Questions

  1. What career do you see yourself in 10-15 years and what life experience(s) has helped you realize this career goal?
  2. Provide the month/year of a community service opportunity you participated in or helped organize. Briefly describe the service and explain what kind of impact it has made on you and how it has helped you recognize your career/life goal.
  3. Give a short description of a challenging event you have personally experienced, then explain how you overcame it and grown from the experience.
  4. List community service or volunteer opportunities you’ve participated in or coordinated within the past 5 years only.

Additional personal statement essays may be required by your selected scholarship fund. Please review the Scholarships Listing for details.

3-Step Application Process

  1. Click the ‘Apply Now’ hyperlinks or buttons (see below) to create your Pauahi Foundation scholarship application profile. Remember your Username (email address) and password.
  2. Activate your account by clicking on the link provided in the confirmation email sent to the email address you registered with.
  3. Complete and submit your online application and all required documents before the program deadline date and time.

Official Transcript

Required. Contact your school’s Registrar’s Office to obtain an official transcript. Official transcript of grade must be received by Pauahi Foundation by the program deadline date and time. Click below for required transcript information & delivery method.

The following elements should be visible on an Official School Transcript:

  • Name of school, school logo, seal or watermark
  • School Registrar’s or designated school official’s signature and date
  • “Official Transcript” notation, watermark or page border
  • Student’s name and (if applicable) degree program information
  • Student’s completed school term(s) with total or cumulative grade point averages and final class grade information. See below “Official Transcript Information” for more.

Unverified or documents marked “Unofficial” will not be accepted. A screenshot (partial or full) of your final grades will not be accepted.

Official Transcript Accepted Delivery Methods

Document Upload via Online Application

For Public Applicants Only (non-KS High School Senior). Once you have completed and submitted your Pauahi Foundation online application:

• Go to your application's Welcome Menu/Dashboard, then click on Step 3: Required Documents (Upload & Check Status).
• Next to 'Transcript,' click 'Choose File,' locate your official transcript, then 'Upload'

Only PDF and JPG/JPEG files, no more than 15mb are accepted.

You may upload a photocopy/scanned copy of your original official school transcript, however, please ensure that you upload all pages and the text is clear, legible and all, or a combination of the elements listed above are visible. If you choose this delivery method, an unopened/sealed envelope is not required by Pauahi Foundation.

Check on the status of your submitted document by logging back into your KAPF Online Application. If there are any issues with your document, a note will appear in this section (Step 3: Required Documents/Upload & Check Documents, then click on the blue '?' icon). You will be able to upload another file.
Secured Email via Third-Party processorOfficial college transcripts only, sent directly from third-party processors such as eTranscripts, e-Scrip Safe, National Student Clearinghouse, Transcript Link, Parchment, Transcript Network, etc. and are made available as a secured, password protected downloadable PDF file. Please instruct your school to email directly to: scholarships@pauahi.org
In-person Drop-Off (Oahu Only)Official school transcript must:

Letters of Recommendation (LOR)

As required by your selected scholarship fund.  LORs must be submitted via your Online Application (hard-copies or email & email attachments are not accepted) no later than the program deadline date and time.

Request and check the status of your LORs by logging back into your Online Application and click on Step 2 – ‘Manage Letters of Recommendation.’ Please review the Scholarships Listing, or log back into your Online Application and click on ‘Review Confirmation Page’ to see if an LOR is required. Please adhere to the following:

  • Confirm your LOR writer’s email address
  • Request the correct letter “type” the fund is asking for: Community, Educator or Employer
  • LOR writers can-not be a family member
  • LORs will be applied to all funds that require the same type of letter

Student Aid Report (SAR)

As required by your selected scholarship fund. Your Student Aid Report (SAR) is generated after you have completed the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). Save a PDF copy of your SAR and deliver to Pauahi Foundation via your Online Application.

Log back into your Online Application. Once you are logged in, click on Step 3: Required Documents (Upload & Check Status). Select the appropriate file and click ‘Upload.’ You must upload your file no later than the program deadline date and time.

Please adhere to the following:

  • Only PDFs of the SAR will be accepted
  • .JNP, .HTML, .GIF files will not be accepted
  • Upload ALL pages of the SAR

Art Portfolio

As required by your selected scholarship fund. Art Portfolios must be received by Pauahi Foundation no later than the program deadline date and time.

  • We do not accept any electronic or digital copies of Art Portfolios (No: CD, DVD, URLs to online portfolios)
  • Include your KAPF ID Number on each page (if applicable); do not include your First/Last Name
  • Allow sufficient delivery time. Art portfolios received after the program deadline date and time will not be accepted
  • Art Portfolios will not be returned
