Halau ‘O Kapikohānaiāmālama offers incredible educational opportunities that inspire passion for learning and enable young learners to be successful and prepared for the next school year. Halau ‘O Kapikohānaiāmālama– The life source that feeds and nourishes. The mana’o behind this inoa is that the piko (place or program) is the center from which wisdom, knowledge, understanding and life lessons will be taught to sustain our haumāna physically, spiritually as well as provide a firm grounding in their Hawaiian identity. With ‘āina as the center of dynamic, vital learning experiences blending rigorous and authentic culture-based Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, Math (STEAM), literacy pieces, and creative exploration, our keiki and ‘ōpio will grow their skills as innovators and stewards of today and tomorrow. The program offers credit advancement for high school students seeking to earn required and/or elective credit(s) for the 2019-2020 school year.
Kamehameha Schools’ policy on admission is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.

WHO MAY APPLY
Hālau ʻo Kapikohānaiāmālama is open to non-KS students entering grades 1-12 in Fall 2019 and incoming kindergarteners who are 5 years of age by July 31, 2018 are eligible to apply online.
Once Admissions receives your child’s application, we will mail you a confirmation letter so you know that it was received. If you do not receive a confirmation letter within three weeks after submitting your child’s application, please call our office immediately at (808) 572-3133. Enrollment is subject to availability of classes. Kamehameha Schools reserves the right to cancel any class if enrollment falls below the minimum required.
Kamehameha Schools’ Maui Summer School program will be held from:
June 17, 2019 – July 12, 2019
Elementary to Middle School: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Full Day: 8:00am-3:00pm
Morning Session only: 8:00am-11:15am
Afternoon Session only: 11:45am-3:00pm
July 4 is a holiday.

Tuition and Transportation: The cost for tuition is based on session(s) attending. Transportation is also provided for an additional fee. Please refer to the table below for applicable charges.

Space Availability: Spaces will be filled based on the date your application is received and course availability. Enrollment is subject to availability of classes. Kamehameha Schools reserves the right to cancel any class if enrollment falls below the minimum required.
Attendance Policy: Daily attendance is critical if students are to master course materials. Absences due to family trips and vacations, games and/or athletic tournaments are discouraged and students who are unable to commit to both or either of the session should not apply. See the course catalog for specific information.
Explorations Series Program Applicants: Students planning to apply to both an Explorations Series program and Maui Summer School are recommended to request attendance to Explorations Series programs offered during Week 1 (6/9-6/14/2019) and Week 6 (7/14-7/19/2019).
NOTE: Students in grades K-8 may not be absent for more than three (3) days. Students in grades 9-12 may not be absent for more than one (1) day. (Please review Attendance Policy)
Payment: Do not send payment with the application. You will be advised of the total amount due in your program invite letter. FULL payment must be received by April 26, 2019 in order for final enrollment to be confirmed.
Refunds and Course Withdrawals: Once a space has been reserved for a student and paperwork has been processed, refunds will be made according to the following schedule:
Through May 27, 2019. . . . . . . . . . . Full refund, less $25.00
From June 1, 2019 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .No refund
Notification Letters: Letters will be mailed in early April.
Enrollment Agreement: Enrollment agreement and additional documentation must be received by April 26, 2019.
