Welcome to week 1 of our Online Literary Discussion!!  We will be posting blogs and assignments on every Monday by 12:00pm and all responses are due on the Friday following by 12:00pm. 

Uncle Kimo, Aunty Lovina, Aunty Malani and I are going to be coming up with questions or thoughts each week about the assigned readings.  We are asking you to respond to the blogs by asking questions to the other students in the discussion or just sharing your mana'o with everyone.  This is going to be super fun and interesting to see how your fellow students feel about the puke and how everyone interprets things in their own way. If you have any questions, mai hilahila and ask.

Here's the discussion for week 1:

In Part I, Moana comes back home and sees 'ohana that she has not seen for many years.  She finds out that her father was a strong practitioner of Hawaiian Culture and shared his 'ike with their family but none with her.  Moana shares feelings of frustration and disconnectedness.

• Put yourself in the same situation and in Moana's shoes and list 3 feelings that you would feel.
• How would you react to these feelings and what would you do to overcome them?
