Aloha pumehana kakou:
Hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday! I just wanted to pass on some information about a community service opportunity.
This Saturday, November 29, 2008, Papahana Kuaola, a malama 'aina based educational program, is having a community work day from 7:30am to 5:00pm. It is going to be a day filled with activities including: Uhau Humu Pohaku (dry stack masonry), Imu (cooking), Lo'i Kalo (construction), and Ku'i Kalo (pounding taro). If you want to give back to the 'aina while learning more about it, this is for you!
Park at Hui Ku Maoli Ola Native Plant Nursery (46-403 Ha'iku Road). Walk mauka up Ha'iku Road, past the park, then down the 1st driveway on the right (about 5 minutes). Be prepared for a day in the sun and/or rain. No need to RSVP - just show up!!! For more information, see the attached flyer.
This is the same organization that we worked with in September for our service learning activity. Many of you expressed interest in going back there. This is the perfect opportunity! This is not a Kamehameha Scholars sponsored activity, but it is a great way to work off all that turkey!
