School Collaborators support the Pauahi Keiki Scholars and Kipona Scholarship programs by providing Native Hawaiian keiki educational opportunities in non-Kamehameha private schools throughout the State of Hawai'i.

Preschools and Private K-12 schools that would like to become a School Collaborator are welcome to view the information on the website.

How Can My Private School Become a KS Collaborator??

   

Request for Institution Eligibility Form - Only schools that submitted a PKS Preschool or Kipona Scholarship Provider Information form and were subsequently notified of ineligibility may complete a Request for Institutional Eligibility form. This form represents the schools opportunity to request KS to reconsider its original decision of ineligibility.

Submit the completed form and all applicable supporting documentation within 10 business days from the date of the mailed notification letter. Decision notification will be mailed within 45 days from the receipt of these documents. Submissions do not guarantee approval.

Pauahi Keiki Scholars (PKS) Preschool

KS’ Pauahi Keiki Scholars (PKS) Preschool scholarship program provides need-based scholarships for students to attend non-KS Preschools in Hawai'i.  Preschool keiki three years of age and older attending or enrolling in participating PKS preschools may apply for PKS scholarships. Award priority is given to keiki closest to kindergarten entry. Previously awarded students must reapply for funds each year.

Kipona Scholarship Program

Kamehameha Schools Kipona Scholarship Program (formerly known as the Pauahi Keiki Scholars [PKSK] Kindergarten Scholarship program) provides need-based scholarship opportunities for students to attend non-KS Private Schools in Hawai'i.  Eligible Kindergarten-aged keiki attending or enrolling in participating Private schools may apply for a scholarships. Previously awarded students must reapply for funds each year.

K-12th Grade Financial Aid and Scholarship Programs

Kamehameha Schools offers three programs for keiki in grades K-12. Please review the descriptions below and select the program you are interested in. If you are considering applying for more than one program (with the exception of Summer School, which is a separate application), you may do so on one Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) form.
 

  • Summer School Financial Aid Program: For keiki planning to attend a Kamehameha Schools campus Summer School Program in 2013. Please note Summer School Financial Aid has a separate application form and does not use PFS.

 

  • Kipona Scholarship Program: For new or returning students attending or planning to attend a Non-Kamehameha Schools private school in Hawai`i.

 

Kipona

Mahalo for your interest in the Kipona Scholarship Program. Kipona is a need-based scholarship for eligible keiki entering kindergarten. Keiki must be attending or planning to attend select Non-Kamehameha private schools in Hawai`i. Previously awarded students entering grades 1-5 must reapply for funds each year. Kamehameha Schools' policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law. 

E kala mai! The application for 2013-2014 is closed; the deadline was February 28, 2013. Feel free to browse the FASS website for additional information. Kipona applications will be accepted again in January 2014. 
 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

All Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered. Your application will be deemed ineligible if any of these conditions are not satisfied.

  • State of Hawai`i resident - KS defines Hawai`i residency as having lived continuously in the state of Hawai`i for at least 12 months immediately prior to the date of application.
  • First time applicants must be entering kindergarten in 2013; previously awarded students must be entering grades 1-5 in 2013.
  • Student applicants must be enrolled in or plan to enroll at a participating private school. Click here for a current listing of participating schools.

Kamehameha Schools K-12

Mahalo for your interest in the Kamehameha Schools (KS) Financial Aid Program. KS partially subsidizes the educational costs (tuition, fees, and meals) for students attending its three K-12 campuses to make education more affordable for families. For tuition information click here. The awards are need-based and families must reapply each year the student attends KS. Please review the information on the website thoroughly, and apply early to meet the priority deadline of April 30, 2013. If you are not invited prior to April 30, apply within 30 days of invite for prompt notification.
