Aloha Mai
Kaulele means to "take flight and soar." It also means "extraordinary, over and above the ordinary". Kaulele is a project in partnership with the Kamehameha Schools, the Institute for Native Pacific Education and Culture (INPEACE) and the Native Hawaiian Leadership Project. The Kaulele Project has an interest in expanding outreach to a variety of financial needs for Native Hawaiians that tend to be under funded and yet crucial to our continued success in the higher-educational arena. Funding is available for a number of College-level, Hawaiian students in specialized areas.
Practicum Funding: Examples of practicum work include nursing students who are required to do "rounds" in a hospital setting for credit or students in education required to do classroom "teaching" at various schools for credit. Kaulele maintains a preference for practicum applicants that are studying in areas that service a good percentage of Native Hawaiians and/or areas of study that are underrepresented by Hawaiians in that particular field.
