Application window to apply for K-SCHOLARS is MARCH 15, 2019 - APRIL 30, 2019.

Space Availability - SPACES ARE LIMITED

Only COMPLETE applications will be scheduled on a first-come,
first-served basis. Spaces are limited and NOT all on-time applications are guaranteed a space.

AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION: Once we have received your application, you can check the status of your application on your Hoʻomākaʻikaʻi, Kilohana and K-Scholars application Status Page (Forms Dashboard) of KS Connect - an online resource for parents of Kamehameha Schools. Families who have used KS Connect for campus students or summer school will use their existing account to access their student's record. If you do not have an existing account to KS connect, you willl receive an email with your account login. For this reason, please be sure to indicate two separate emails - one email for each legal guardian. We will no longer be sending out notification letters regarding any pending documents. You will be responsible for monitoring the KS Connect Forms Dashboard to ensure completion of your re-enrollment application by the deadline. Access will be granted in March for the Ho'omāka'ika'i and Kilohana programs during the Conditional Acceptance period and June for the K-Scholars program.

Conditional Acceptance Letters

Students invited to the Ho'omāka'ika'i and Kilohana programs will be emailed their conditional acceptance letters in March and in June for the K-Scholars program. Conditional acceptance letters to include required payment (if applicable) and handbook documents. Deadline to submit all required documents will be noted in letter.

Confirmation Packet

All accepted applicants to the Ho'omāka'ika'i and Kilohana Programs, will be emailed their confirmation packets in mid-May. Confirmation Packets for the K-Scholars Program will be emailed out in July. These packets will contain all details related to their scheduled programs (packing list, flight information - if applicable, and general program information).  Please also note that there will be no early notification for out-of-state applicants.

KS reserves the right to cancel sessions.  Should this occur, families will be notified and accommodated if possible.

If you need to cancel your child's program for any reason, please call us immediately at (808) 534-8272 or toll free at 1-800-842-4682, then extension 48272.

We must receive all required documents with the fee waiver form in order for it to be processed.  Please note that we must receive any required financial documents directly from you.  In order to protect your privacy, other KS departments such as Financial Aid cannot release information of that nature to anyone other than the individual it belongs to.  Fee waivers for Kūamahi Programs are processed through the Applicant Services Center and the Kūamahi Operations Department.

Attendance Policy Daily attendance is critical if students are to master course materials.  Absences due to family trips and vacations, games and/or athletic tournaments are discouraged and students who are unable to commit to the full summer program should not apply.

Airfare

Hawaii-based Applicants:
Kamehameha Schools provides round-trip air transportation for State of Hawai‘i applicants to all Ho'omāka'ika'i programs from their home island so long as the student travels with the group during the assigned times.  Individualized travel arrangements will not be accommodated due to the large number of students traveling.

Mainland-based Applicants:
Kamehameha Schools does not provide interstate or international air transportation for out-of-state applicants. Since students travel in groups at assigned dates and times, individualized travel arrangements are not allowed. Mainland and international traveling participants must checkin at program check-in site. The program is not responsible for airport arrival and departure arrangements.

Dual EnrollmentIf you plan to enroll your child in another KS summer program, please review the respective program’s attendance policy and program dates.  It is strongly recommended that a student does NOT miss the first and last week of the Kilohana program.

Policy To Give Preference To Hawaiian Applicants

Kamehameha Schools' admissions policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.  If you would like to be considered under that policy, your Hawaiian ancestry must be verified by Kamehameha's Ho‘oulu Hawaiian Data Center (HHDC).  Please work directly with the HHDC staff to complete your ancestry determination as soon as you can and preferably no later than the program's application deadline.

HO'OMĀKA'IKA'I -  deadline FEBRUARY 15, 2019
